The Living Room

The Living Room was an installation interested in adressing construction waste. Instead of discarding outdated architectural elements during a home renovation, the project repurposes them. The reused elements, such as doors, windows, shutters, are reimagined to help mitigate the extreme climate by providing food, shelter, and water for plants and humans. Although scattered across the landscape, the objects would work together to promote biodiversity and increase the interaction between humans, animals, and endangered plant species. The project was built with financial supprt from the High Meadows Environmental Institute. A motion sensor camera was placed on-site, capturing deer and humans engaging with the project.
