Diff-use

Diff-use is a new gathering space for the campus and town of Princeton. The volumes, determined by programmatic requirements, shuffle across the site to create exterior pockets of spaces, such as patios and plazas, where activities from the interior can spill out and interact with one another and the public.

The units inside are designed to be programmatically non-prescriptive while still anticipating the amenities needed for the space to function adequately. The central atrium features a grand staircase that circumvents the space and provides views of the town and campus. The facade’s transparency allows pedestrians to view the interior activities, ultimately enticing them to come inside.
